Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account?
No. There is no email or password. When you start the app you choose a language and a name for the greeting.
How do I see the moments?
Open the Moments tab. Each moment has a switch and a chip that says how it is triggered. To test one, go to Settings → Preview moments and tap the bell: the real notification arrives after 5 seconds.
The "leaving home" or mosque dua never arrives.
Save your place in Moments → Home & mosque (tap the map, then Save) and allow location Always when asked. Make sure notifications are allowed for Dhakerni in iOS Settings. Location is checked on your iPhone and is never sent to us.
How do I link bedtime and waking?
In iOS Settings → Focus → Sleep → Focus Filters → Add Filter → Dhakerni, then turn on “Bedtime & waking adhkar”.
How do I get the travel dua in the car?
In the Shortcuts app, create a Personal Automation for CarPlay or a Bluetooth device, with the action “Remind me of a dua”. You can also put “Count one dhikr” on the Action Button.
What does “I said it” do?
It marks the moment as remembered. The dial on the Today tab fills in gold for it.
I'm not receiving notifications.
Check iOS Settings → Notifications → Dhakerni, that “Receive Dhikr notifications” is on in the app's Settings, and that no Focus is silencing them. After travelling, accept the timezone update the app offers.
How are prayer times calculated?
On your device, from your location, with the calculation method you choose in Settings → Prayer Times. See our Privacy Policy.
How do I report a mistake in a dhikr?
Tap the flag icon on the dhikr card and add a short note. Reports are reviewed and the content is corrected or removed.
Something else isn't working.
Update to the latest version and restart the app. If it continues, email us with your device model and iOS version.
